Rooo sighting !!!!

So after the drama, with the dentist and missing teeth, we decided to rent a car and head out of the city, to the Yarra Valley and the wine region…. stopping off at a nature reserve to see Koala’s and Roos. The scenery was stunning especially as it was Autumn, with fantastic colours (something I had not seen since Canada a few years ago). Anyway pictures speak louder than words …. so please take a gander …

Oh my God …..

So this morning out to down town Melbourne and a visit to the dentist at 8am !!!, after walking down the street to have a x ray … the prognosis was …. take them OUT!!!!!! so yours truly ended up minus two teeth. Here I am just after having the surgery ( yes it did hurt, unlike the dentist in Bangkok and Hong Kong).

The rest of the day, I was in some kind of shock and so did not do much……..

Koala Count still nil

Shopping and broken teeth

Today was spent wandering around very quaint boutiques, and rather fine bars. However I broke my tooth … so now have to have an emergency dental appointment !!!!!

First Sight Melbourne ……. land ahoy

So after the flight via Singapore … I saw Melbourne from the air …. god it is flat no high rises and then on getting out of the plane…. COLD …yes its cold. Now I expected Australia to be warm, but silly me forget that this country is upside and its Autumn !! so temperature is around 14 degrees C and I have packed lots of linen clothes, from Mr Gu … bad move Chris.

So after L unch in this very fine eatery, the cool car is outside the restaurant Haveys in South Yarra, a few blocks done from where we are staying.

We decided to go … yes clothes shopping (here is a shot of Chapel Street in South Yarra.

… saw lots of nice things, but why pay the silly prices for autumn clothes when I can just get Mr Gu to make them for me … and what is it , the male shops all seem to be going for the same suit I had made, narrow lapels and thin ties !!!! the 60’s are back. I will have to take more notice of Style.com, GQ and Vogue.

Tonight off to a burlesque show ( http://www.burlesquebar.com.au/ ).

Will keep you all updated,

Clothes

I really don’t know what is happening to me, it must be the two walk in wardrobes that I have, but I have gone clothes mad.

In preparation of the next Chris Tour adventure Mr Gu the tailor came round with a suitcase full of new clothes.

3 pairs of casual Linen trousers
10 shirts both casual and formal
2 pairs of formal trousers
2 pairs of formal linen trousers
and one Grey 1960’s style James Bond Suit (with two pairs of trousers)

also I raided the Herring Shoes web site and swiped two pairs of Church’s ….. so the suitcase is all packed with nice crisp new clothes, lucky I don’t need to learn any new phases, so I can pack my mandarin text books and get continue to learn while I travel.
